Easy Spicy Pork Adobo na Tuyo Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 kg pork belly, cut into serving pieces

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 12 pcs siling labuyo

  • ½ cup soy sauce

  • ¼ cup white or cane vinegar

  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 6 pcs dried bay leaves

  • 2 tsp whole peppercorn

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a bowl, combine the pork belly, soy sauce, whole peppercorn, and garlic then mix well.

  2. Cover the bowl with a clear plastic wrap then place inside the refrigerator and marinate for at least 3 hours.

  3. Heat a pan on a stovetop.

  4. Once the pan is hot enough, pour the marinated pork along with the marinade.

  5. Cook until the pork browns.

  6. Pour beef broth into the pan then let it boil.

  7. Add- in the siling labuyo and cover the pan and continue to cook in medium heat for 15 minutes.

  8. Add- in the bay leaves and vinegar then let the liquid boil.

  9. Stir and then cover the pan.

  10. Continue to cook for 40 to 60 minutes or until the pork becomes tender (add more broth or water if the liquid starts to dry while the pork is not that tender enough).

  11. Remove the cover from the pan.

  12. Continue to cook until the liquid totally evaporates.

  13. Cook a little bit longer in low to medium heat until oil gets extracted from the pork.

  14. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy!
